PepsiCo Inc., one of the largest food and beverage industries has elected Segun Agbaje as an independent member of its Board of Directors. Segun Agbaje, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. (GTB) and currently the director of MasterCard Advisory Board, Middle East and Africa, will sit on the Board and its Audit Committee in a non-executive position.
This was announced via an official statement released by PepsiCo, which also mentioned that Segun Agbaje will resume his duties on 15th July, 2020. The Chairman and CEO of the international food and beverage industry (PepsiCo), Ramon Laguarta said that Segun Agbaje is “a well-respected and proven business leader with a deep understanding of complex businesses and fast-growing markets.” He also said that Segun’s experience and passion will be of great help to the industry in ensuring that PepsiCo becomes “the global leader in convenient foods and beverages”.
The Chairman of the Board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, Daniel Vasella, also said, “We look forward to Segun joining the PepsiCo Board and to the valued global perspective he will add to our team. His knowledge and experience of embracing and scaling new technologies and critical capabilities will be valuable as we continue to invest in opportunities that create shareholder value and deliver long-term sustainable growth.”
