Jay-Z is living up to his new mantra of rewriting all the rules.
The rapper dropped the tracklist for his twelfth studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, on Saturday (June 22) afternoon by way of a viral scavenger hunt in Brooklyn. Select fans found black binders that revealed the twelve tracks with an additional two pages blacked out, suggesting there might be some bonus material. They were then encouraged to share via social media. Here’s what it looks like using the new Instagram video option.
Jay-Z did something in a similar vain with his book ‘Decoded‘ in 2011, where pages of Hov’s hardcover were hidden at random locations in various cities.
Magna Carta Holy Grail lands on July 4 via the Magna Carta app for Samsung Galaxy S3, S4 and Galaxy note users. The rest of the world will be able to purchase in stores and online starting July 7.
God only knows how the first single is going to drop.
