The Nigeria Center for Disease Control should set out for an awareness program in rural areas within the country. Misinformation or lack of information can be just as detrimental to health, more than enough myths are floating around causing the panicked public to result to unhealthy alternate measures and in certain cases pay no mind to detrimental attitudes and behaviors to their health.
Until now, the focus of the health system has been on major cities with a large population load. However, to combat the Corona virus pandemic and prevent a major return, NCDC should set out for a house to house campaign in rural areas to distribute materials, give information and endorse acceptable health care alternatives. This will help reduce the ‘mysterious’ deaths in rural areas.
