The unhealthy practice of picking disposed masks for recycling purpose is harmful to both the individual picking them and whoever procures them later. This act has been condemned with the Presidential Task Force Chairman, Mr Boss Mustapha.

Sharing of masks is a sure way of transference of germs considering the micro droplets to be found within the fabric which can last up to an hour. However, impoverished persons have taken to combing dump sites for disposed masks for resale.

Apart from the underlying risks predisposing the user to Corona virus, certain germs may have come in contact with the mask and nested in it which might lead into other respiratory issues demanding medical attention. Thus, the general public is hereby advised to be sure of the source of the face masks before they buy so as to escape the risks of recycling used face masks
