Following Beyonce’s revelation about the African collaborators on her new album, The Lion King: The Gift, Victoria Kimani, has reacted to the exclusion of Kenyans from the album, adding it was a depressing move, which shouldn’t have been overlooked.

She said; “As much as we celebrate with our fellow Africans …. The obvious exclusion of Kenyans / East Africans on this Soundtrack is Depressing…. The movie was based on KENYA”.

“Ya’lll coulda atleast had Lupita or Barack on the outro since we don’t have artists in East Africa”

“Rafiki, Simba & Nala ARE KENYAN”

When told that the project was not a soundtrack but a special project by Beyonce herself, she said;
“That’s fine …. Our Queen forgot about US. WE were not represented in her love letter to us. It hurts. That’s all.”
