The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Wednesday, June 12 as a public holiday to commemorate the maiden National Democracy day across the country. The news was made known in a statement issued by the Director (Press & Public Relations), Ministry of Interior, Mohammed Manga, on Monday urging Nigerians to remember the sacrifices of past heroes who fought for the country to attain democracy.
He also sought for cooperation of all Nigerians with the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari towards achieving a collective aspiration for the unity, peace and socio-economic development of Nigeria as he wished all Nigerians at home and abroad a happy Democracy Day Celebration.
