The President of the Confederation of African Football, Ahmad Ahmad was reportedly arrested at the Berri Hotel in Paris, France on Thursday.
The arrest was made while the President was in France for the FIFA Congress. The arrest was due to the President misusing funds of approximately $830,000 after ordering equipment via a French intermediary company called Tactical Steel. The President has earlier denied the allegations, claiming that the process was transparent. The official statement by the FIFA on the matter was documented below;
