The governor of Rivers state, Governor Wike has sacked the state’s commissioner of power; Shedrach Chukwu. This was made known in a statement by Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media; Simeon Nwakaudu. In the communique released, it was stated that the Governor directed the sacked commissioner to submit all Government Documents and Property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power.

Recently, the governor recalled the 12 local government chairmen suspended earlier. He admonished them to be committed to the growth of the state and to shun all form of slackness in their governance. He also stated that an exhibition of unacceptable behaviours won’t be tolerated.
