Lupita Amondi N’yongo, the versatile actress was born in Mexico on the 1st of March 1983. As a young child drawn to the arts and performing media, Lupita was very active in communal activities in her home country; Kenya.
At the age of 16, her parents sent her off to Mexico to learn Spanish. She later attended the Hampshire college where she bagged a Bachelors’ degree in Film and Theatre studies. Her first move into the world of movie was as a production assistant in 2009, before moving back to Kenya to star in the popular series; Shuga. She also got a Masters degree at the Yale school of drama.
Her first major break to the screens what her role as Patsel in Steve Mcqueen’s drama; 12 Years a Slave (2012). Her fame rose a notch higher as she starred in the Marvel comic: Black Panther alongside Chadwick Boseman. Lupita is passionate about sexual harassment, as well as working for women and animal rights. She has won many awards based on her roles in various films, some of which include; Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play, as well as a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.
