Real Madrid Goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois’ was showered with toy rats as he entered the Wanda Metropolitano before the Madrid derby.
Courtois made 154 appearances with Atletico during a three-year spell where he won the La-Liga title and the Europa League before moving to Chelsea. The Belgium switched back to the Spanish capital last summer, but it wasn’t back to the Los Rojiblancos, but to bitter rivals, Real Madrid.
It looks as if the Atletico fans are not too keen on the move and even went as far as to vandalise his plaque outside of Atletico’s new stadium.
Courtois had the last laugh though as Real Madrid defeated their city rivals 3-1.
Goals from Casemiro, Ramos and Bale gave Madrid a much needed win as their revival continued as they try to catch leaders Barcelona.
The win gives Santiago Solari his first derby win in as many games as Real Madrid overtake their city rivals to second position on the table.
