El-Rufai Threatens Foreign Nationals Who Intervene In Nigeria’s Election

Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, on Tuesday threatened foreign nationals who might interfere in the upcoming Nigerian general elections.

This follows the condemnation of President’s Buhari’s suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen by  the United States, United Kingdom and the European Union last week.

El-Rufai was on NTA’s live programme when he made the statement.

“Those that are calling for anyone to come and intervene in Nigeria, we are waiting for the person that would come and intervene, they would go back in body bags,” the governor said.

He also said Nigerian was a sovereign entity and as such should not have its matters waddled into by foreign governments.

“We are trying to run our country as decently as possible,”

El-Rufai is a member of the ruling All Progressive Congress and also a staunch supporter of President Buhari.

The Minister of foreign affairs, last week, also said there was a bias by Western Countries towards the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.

Another Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu also warned last week that the country would not hesitate to raise armed forces against foreign elements who try to meddle in the affairs of the country.
