High School Musical, Baywatch, and Greatest Showman alum Zac Efron is letting go of his harmless, handsome boy-next-door-ness to take on the role of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in the chilling new biopic, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile.
Yes, he was a serial killer, but Bundy was also charming and disarmingly good looking, something Efron is, and his chilling performance, centered, not around Bundy’s savage killings, but around his unwavering insistence on his innocence, even when confronted with hard evidence, is creepy even if the aim to to show the human side of the serial killer. What’s the point of it all doing that, one is forced to ask.
The title is taken from a statement by the Judge, Edward Cowart (John Malkovich) as he sentenced Bundy to death.
