2018 was an amazing year in music and in 2019, most artists are kicking the year off with a bang.
Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name Falz has proven to be not only an artist but also an activist. Through his music videos and lyrics, he has made it quite clear that he is socially aware and conscious, he does not only make music for people to enjoy but he serves as a voice of the people. Mid 2018 he released a controversial song, This is Nigeria, which got people talking and also made some people mad.
Well, Falz is back to stir up conversation as he drops a new music video titled “Talk”.
In this song, the lyrics provoke thought and addresses several issues in Nigeria. He also talks about the upcoming elections with lyrics such as “Election don dey come they go need your support”. He also throws subtle shades with lyrics like “4 year tenure 3 years holiday”. In the chorus he goes “na you talk am oo, no be me talk am oo” but ending the song with the statement “Na me talk am o”. Falz spoke the mind of millions of Nigeria in just 3:28 minutes.
The video also depicts a lot as he brought back “the girls in hijab” that caused a bit of trouble for him last year, he is really showing us what “Freedom of expression” is.
