Manchester United have sacked manager, Jose Mourinho as manager after two and a half years in charge.
United lie sixth in the league, after the club lost 3-1 to rivals Liverpool in the weekend which sees the club lie 18 points behind Liverpool and 11 points behind the top four.
“A caretaker-manager will be appointed until the end of the season while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager,” United said in a statement on Twitter.
“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.”

United’s have 26 points, after 17 games, their worst start in the top flight since 1990-91.
Mourinho also fell out with many players, including £89m record signing Paul Pogba, who was an unused substitute for the defeat at Anfield on Sunday.
Again, Mourinho has failed to complete his fourth season in a club. He was also sacked twice by Chelsea and by Real Madrid.
