Weeks after meeting with President Trump and declaring his support for him, Kanye West has come out to say he’s distancing himself from politics.
The rapper took to Twitter yesterday to disassociate himself from a campaign he was linked to known as Blexit which is run by Conservative commentator Candace Owens, Blexit encourages black Americans to quit the Democratic party. She claimed the musician had designed clothing for the campaign, something which the rapper has now denied.
“I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.”

Kanye tweeted: “My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!”
According to the rapper, he supports, creating jobs and opportunities for people who need them the most; support prison reform, support common-sense gun laws that will make our world safer; support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable.
This is not the first time Kanye has had to clear his political beliefs. Earlier this year he came under fire for saying that the 13th amendment of the US Constitution, which brought an end to slavery, should be abolished – a statement that he later clarified.
He ended his series of tweet with: “I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.”
“I would like to thank my family, loved ones, and community for supporting my ACTUAL beliefs and my vision for a better world.”
