The Flying Eagles of Nigeria has secured qualification for next year’s Africa U-20 Nation’s Cup in Niger republic after beating Mauritania 5-0 at the Agege township stadium, Lagos.
The Eagles scored two goals in the first half and three more in the second half to seal qualification to the tournament. Wasiu Alade and Nazifi Yahaya were the goal scorers in the first-half, scoring in the 11th and 33rd minutes respectively.
The Eagles continued where they left off in the second half by applying pressure and were eventually rewarded with three more goals. Yahaya added to his personal tally with his second goal in the 47th minute before Aniekeme Okon scored Nigeria’s fourth in the 72rd minute.
When it looked like the game would end 4-0 in Nigeria;s favour, Mahmoud Abdullah was brought down in the box and Afeez coolly converted the resultant penalty to make the game 5-0.
