Community testing for Coronavirus in Delta State has began after the Delta State Government has offered to pay for the life insurance of 2,557 health workers. Therefore, the health workers are motivated to sensitize the local communities on the dangers of the pandemic and the preventive guidelines to follow. This was confirmed by the Commissioner of Health who also doubles as the Chairman of the Technical Committe on Coronavirus. He also stated that there is a need for community testing for Coronavirus in Delta State in order to curb the spread of the virus.

The Commissioner also disclosed that the state has procured a molecular laboratory which would increase the state’s testing capacity. Therefore, with all necessary things put in place, the Delta State Government is ready to begin a community testing for Coronavirus and sensitisation of the community about the dangers of the pandemic to the health of the community. The sensitisation would also educate the local communities in Delta so that they would not resort to self-medication and hurt themselves the more.
