UN Generation Unlimited appoints Adebola Williams as Youngest Global Champion

The United Nations Generation Unlimited has appointed the Chief Executive Officer of RED | For Africa, Adebola Williams, as a Global Champion for Generation Unlimited (GenU).

According to a statement, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Vera Songwe, Tsitsi Masiyiwa, and others were previously honoured with the position.

“Williams also joins GenU leaders such as the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame; President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta; First Vice President of Costa Rica, Epsy Campbell Barr; African Union’s Moussa Faki Mahamat, and others to steer the United Nations Generation Unlimited vision as a Global Champion,” the statement explained.

Introduced at his first assignment in this capacity during the launch of the Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge for Nigeria in Lagos, UNICEF country director, Peter Hawkins described Williams as the ultimate young African while expressing how delighted he is to have him onboard the GenU team.
