NIGERIA CELEBRATES 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM BY LAUNCHING SEXUAL OFFENDER REGISTER

Nigerians have joined the world in speaking out against gender-based violence as they mark the 16 Days of Activism.

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls.

The Activism started on Monday, November 25 and on that day, Nigeria launched its first national sexual offenders register, which will contain the names of all those prosecuted for sexual violence since 2015.

The Sexual Offender Register is a step towards fighting against abuse in the country.
