ABUJA RESIDENTS LAMENT FCT’S BAN ON KEKE NAPEP
The Federal Capital Territory Administration has banned tricycle popularly called Keke Napep in Abuja, to the dismay of operators and users.
The PUNCH also reported that the government has started a mass arrest of those who fail to comply with the order.
While many have taken to the streets to protest the ban, some have taken to popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to express their frustration at the ban.
Read some reactions below:
Why does the government hate poor people?
Abuja is mostly populated AND SERVICED by poor people. How do we expect them to get around without Keke?
Every policy we throw up seems to tell poor people to get out of the way.
Same poor people you gave your stickers during election.

They want to turn Nigeria into America overnight by banning Keke in Abuja. Now they have added more people to the “ jobless “ category. God Epp us.

The Ban Of Keke In Abuja would increase the Number of Unemployed youths, More armed robbery, Rape Cases and Many more Bad Vices. But the thing is, it would only Affect the Poor and the Middle Class. Nigeria is a Scam Country. Bubu surely used this Keke guys to campaign…

So they woke up one morning and decided to ban keke and taxis in Abuja? Sometimes this government confuses me. Are they here to make life easier for us or more difficult?

Buhari's Govt is a sham and a failure

What’s the exact story behind the ban of tricycles (Keke) in Abuja? Is it a strike or a ban by the government? Because you can’t just ban such large-scale commercial life without providing an alternative solution, for both the tricyclists and Abuja residents who depended on them.

I have always been irritated by the large number & reckless conduct of keke in Abuja. Following the ban yesterday, I saw huge crowds at Galadimawa roundabout last night stranded – the only transport they can afford is keke. They could not go home, we elite should be considerate.

I have a serious issue with this ‘keke ban’. It’s like the Federal govt didn’t weigh the effect of their actions. The level at which crime rates will be on the increase… I fear for our lives in Abuja.

You wanted to stop Keke without providing another alternative. Is this a serious govt? They wanted to add more hardship on the masses. The best mode of transportation along Apo is Keke bcos of holdup. Govt need to reverse their decision b4 it is too late.
