NINIOLA’S HUMAN RADIO CONCERT WAS A NIGHT OF NONSTOP FUN OF BEAUTIFL PERFORMANCES
THE HUMAN RADIO concert by Afro-house queen, Niniola Apata, took place on Friday, the 8th of November, and it was as lit as promised. The event, which took place at the Federal Palace Hotel, had hundreds of people trooping in and they were not disappointed.
The show promised to start at 6pm, sadly, it didn’t commence until some minutes after 10pm, over four hours later than scheduled. Some people who had come early had to go back home, citing that they had things to attend to the next day.
However, when the concert started, it seemed to compensate for its lateness.
The show started with Ed iZycs who was the first performer. He came onstage at 10:40pm and serenaded the crowd with different tunes from his flute till 10:50, to the applause of the crowd.
The second performer was TEMS, followed by Mz Kiss, Seyi Shay, Dotun, popularly called the energy god, Falz and Becca. All the artistes who performed at the show gave a beautiful rendition but the highlight of the night was from the Afro-house queen herself-Niniola!
Ninola made sure to shut down the concert as promised. She had four performances and they all got everyone watching her in awe.
Her first performance was stunning
At exactly 1:22, Niniola’s dancers and local drummers came onstage. All dressed in the popular aso-oke attire, they greeted the crowd with energetic traditional dances.
Four minutes later, the Afro-house queen showed up in a beautiful green playsuit by designer Yemi Shoyemi. She was welcomed by the talking drum with the statement: Niniola Niniola, the child of Apata.
The beautiful entertainer later revealed that her outfit was made from aso-oke. Her big pink afro hair, which was packed to the back, complemented her outfit.
Jiggling to the sound of the talking drum, omele and bata, it was evident that she is a proper Ondo girl. She sang her popular Ibadi song, shaking her bum to the admiration of the crowd.
The Afro-house queen performed with a shy male fan
Her second stage performance started shortly after the first. She was dressed in a pink ball gown from the same designer as the first. Her big afro was now beautifully rolled around her hair.
With violinists playing at the background, Niniola gave a passionate performance of the song, kokoro ti nje efo. She got a male fan to dance with her. The shy fan, who could not believe he was actually onstage with the singer, buried his face most of the time.
When he finally got over his shyness, he ran to the front of the stage and back to hug the singer in excitement. His action got many people smiling.
Niniola also performed her song Shaba. The singer’s dancers were all in tune with her, giving a wonderful rendition.
Niniola took charge of the drums in her third performance
Nini’s third performance was unexpected. Dressed in band attire alongside other drummers, she showed her love for drums when she took charge of the percussion and serenaded the crowd with various tunes.
She played popular childhood play songs like: Iya Titi ti se be and wherever you go, and the audience excitedly responded.
“I was born into the drums, into music,” she said, noting the essence of the performance.
THE HUMAN RADIO concert was a night of nonstop fun. Thanks to Niniola who made sure she gave her audience more than the value for their money.
She took her fans to Ekiti with her fourth performance
Nini made sure to end on a high note by taking her fans to Ekiti state. Dressed in a little gold dress, complemented with a long black wig, Nini was prepared to give her audience a performance that would give them something to talk about for a while.
She started her fourth performance with a song from Ekiti that said: My prayers will be answered. Whatever I lay my hands on will prosper.
She then went ahead to sing the popular Ajekun iya ni yoo je song by Senator Dino Melaye, and the crowd happily chanted along. She also performed Maradona and Banana.
Niniola’s energy was evident throughout THE HUMAN RADIO concert. All her performances were hit back to back and she definitely got applause from her fans.
