Burna Boy Says He Doesn’t ‘Appreciate’ His Team Deleting His Posts When He Speaks His Mind
After Coachella released their list of performers for the upcoming festival in April, the Nigerian duo of Burna Boy and Mr Eazi were amongst the artists billed to perform at the popular event, which also has the likes of Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, and Childish Gambino on the list.
While many of the artist were in celebatory mode, Burna Boy wasn’t. He had issued with the size of the font used to write his name. The “ye” crooner felt it wasn’t big or bold enough for the “Giant of Africa.” And he went on his Instagram story to say his mind and even went as far as asking the organizers to change it.
He said: @coachella, I appreciate you, but I don’t appreciate the way my name is written so small in your bill. I am an AFRICAN GIANT, and will not be reduced to whatever that tiny writing means. Fix things quick please.”
His post quickly sparked debate and Burna Boy became a trending topic. The post was deleted not long after and for a while, it looked as if Burna Boy had had a change of heart. That wasn’t the case though as he soon used his Instagram story to let people know that he wasn’t particularly sorry about the post.
In his Instagram story, he said: “My team deletes when I speak my mind. I don’t appreciate either.”
It looks as if it was his team that deleted the initial post in a bid to deescalate the issue.
