The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has expelled Professor Jerry Gana and suspended its presidential candidate, Donald Duke.
The party also expelled its Acting National Chairman Supo Shonibare with immediate effect.
The expulsion and suspension was announced by the Director of Media and Publicity of the SDP, Yemi Akinbode during a news briefing in Abuja.
The party said it suspended the trio for being critical about the party and engaging in anti-party activities. The party also said Shonibare was the arrowhead of a splinter group in the party.
This is coming few days to the presidential election.
Gana and Duke contested for the presidential ticket of the party. Duke emerged winner of the party but Gana displeased with the result took it to court.
Duke was later declared the presidential candidate of the SDP by the Supreme Court. This has created a divide in the party.
