Rihanna reportedly declined super bowl halftime performance in support of Colin Kaepernick.
The “We found love” singer was reportedly asked to take the gig in February but turned it down because she disagrees with the NFL’s decision to fine players who kneel while the National Anthem is playing. Colin launched a protest in 2016 in protest of injustice faced by many Black Americans in the US. He soon opted out of his contract in 2017, and is currently suing the NFL and its owners for colluding to prevent his hiring. Rihanna is now said to be taking things one step further to work with the athlete on making a positive change in ‘a fun and powerful way’ all in the name of social justice reform.
