A talented Nigerian singer, whose cover of Celine Dion’s “if that’s what it takes” got the attention of lots of people back in the early 2000s but suddenly went off the radar, has been found.

The singer, Funke Olayode is however said to be in a critical and sad condition. According to an Instagram user “bisilolaBakare” who took the pain to search, Funke Olayode aka Celine Dion lives in a slum in Ogbomoso and is in jeopardy. She has no family and she is allegedly mentally unstable. Read the Instagram user’s post below:

This broke my heart when I eead her story lastnight somuch I was just praying for her. This life sha…too sad #Repost @damitaiwo with @repostapp
My heart bleeds! Who remembers Funke Olayode (AKA Funke Celine Dion)? The lady that stole our hearts in the late 90s and early 2000s after she translated one of Celine Dion’s hit song “If That’s What It Takes” into Yoruba “To ba je’oun to gba” with her soothing voice..

While snooping around Instagram, I came across a throwback of her song on @sesanadeniji page and out of curiosity, I googled her to see what she’s been up to, I was then directed to her Facebook page. Lo and behold, our much loved Funke is currently living in the slums of Ogbomosho Oyo State, in her 40s with no family and a local hair dresser wallowed in self pity and destruction.

I went through her Facebook posts in detail only to find out she blames her former management and sponsor for her misfortune and thinks some evil forces took away her destiny. .
The point of this post is to make aware of her current situation. If you once loved Funke and you are capable of helping her in anyway, please let’s reach out to her! She needs not just financial help but also personal Therapy to help her mental state.
