Nicki Minaj Lands First Ever Vogue Cover In New Vogue Arabia Issue

Rapper Nicki Minaj has teased fans with a glimpse of her Vogue Arabia cover shoot. The Queensbridge rapper will appear on the cover of the September issue, making it her first Vogue cover. In a post on her Instagram page that shows pictures of the shoot, the rapper added the line: “The Queen Is Back.”

Vogue Arabia has also announced that Minaj, who released her latest album, Queen last week will be on the cover of its latest issue.

The magazine posted a picture of the issue on their official Twitter handle, and added the caption: “The September issue is here with landing her first ever cover. “I’m not here to play. I’m just as smart, talented, and creative as any man,” says the rapper, whose fourth album, Queen, jumped straight to number one in 85 countries. COVER 1 OF 2.”

In October 2017, Rihanna covered Vogue Arabia, which elicited some criticism from some quarters over the singer being a non-Arabian woman. It was the same when Kendall Jenner covered Vogue India on its tenth-anniversary issue.

While this is Minaj’s first cover for Vogue, the rapper has already appeared on many major magazines including Rolling Stone, Billboard, Fader, XXL, Time and Cosmopolitan.
