RAPPER OLAMIDE FINALLY RESPONDS TO CRITICS OF HIS SONG “SCIENCE STUDENTS”
Popular and talented Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji has responded to claims that his song ‘Science Students’ promotes drug abuse.
On the controversial song released two weeks ago, Olamide rapped about the widespread drug abuse among Nigeria’s youth, elaborating on the various substances individuals mix together.
A section of Nigerians have criticised him for seemingly endorsing drug abuse in his songs while others view it as a satirical attempt at criticising the scourge.
In a bid to clarify his reasons for the direction of the song and following the demand for his response on the critic’s claims, the rapper took to his Instagram page to say this:
“Since the release of #ScienceStudent, the support has been massive. As you are all sharing, dancing, singing along to this relatable music of mine, I want you all to take some time to reflect on the subject, say no to drug abuse.
“Don’t abuse alcohol. Stop mixing what you don’t know about. Live responsibly and drink responsibly. Don’t aspire the ‘highness state’ but a state of purpose fulfillment and passion discovery”.
“Together let’s put an end to drug abuse and save as many lives as possible. The video will be out soon and I can’t wait for you all to see it. #SayNoToDrugAbuse #DrinkResponsibly#ScienceStudent.”
