IGP commissions 500-Unit Muhammadu Buhari Housing Estate for Police in Lagos
Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris has commissioned a 500-unit housing estate in Badagry, Lagos, named after President Muhammadu Buhari.
The housing estate, built in partnership with Remax Realtors, was inaugurated on Thursday.
The IGP, speaking at the event, said the estate was built to reduce the accommodation deficit experienced by men and women of the Nigerian Police.
He added that the project is part of the initiative of his regime to improve the welfare of the force across the country.
“The welfare of personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, especially the rank and file, is uppermost in my agenda for a more functional, proactive and result oriented Police Force.
Consequently, I enjoin you to be at your best, applying best practices in our dealings with the civil populace with total loyalty to our dear nation
I have assured Police Personnel of my determination to accelerate all issues that advance their welfare and our families such as promotion, prompt payment of entitlements, salaries and provision of affordable housing units among others.”
He added that similar housing estates will soon be inaugurated in Katsina, Zamfara, and Niger states.
