Mourinho Hasn’t Evolved Tactically -E’too

French TV show Telefoot has today featured a big guest in Samuel E’too Phil; a former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker -or maybe more-.

During his time on air, the Cameroonian legend referenced several Premier League personalities such as Eden Hazard, Gardiola and Mourihno.

Eto’o on Mourinho

The striker had the opportunity to learn from Jose Mourinho during his time at Inter Milan and at Chelsea, and Eto’o voiced his opinions on how the Special One has now changed at Manchester United.

Jose has changed. I knew someone exceptional at Inter. At Chelsea it was already difficult, but he has further evolved.

Today, you have to want to play football, to play your men. We can not continually defend. Football is not that.

Listen, I have nothing against Jose: he is capable of taking someone and telling them ‘you’re the best,’ and he will make them have a very good match. But football evolves.

On Guardiola

Before he arrived in the Premier League, Eto’o was a Barcelona player for current Man City boss Pep Guardiola.

Eto’o spoke in glowing terms about the Sky Blues boss:

Pep Guardiola has everything to succeed in the Premier League.

He is the best coach in the world. He always wants to play and he will succeed in imposing his style of play in England. His great strength is to never change his ideas. Technically, he’s the best.
