So, the BFI has compiled its annual Sight & Sound poll, asking 163 critics and curators to pick their five best films of the year, and as critical as these judges are, some movies still made it to the top. Or well, that’s bound to.

Coming out on top is a German comedy Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann which is a movie filming a dad playing pranks on his estranged daughter.
