A Bangladeshi professor has been hacked to death by unidentified attackers on Saturday.
58 year old Rezaul Karim Siddique was a professor of English at Rajshahi University and was attacked by men wielding machetes while he was on his home from the University.
His killing comes barely a month after a secular blogger was hacked to death shortly after he put up a post criticizing Islam on Facebook.
Bangladesh has witnessed increasing violence against secular bloggers, with four bloggers killed last year. However, unlike previous killings Siddique had no secular or atheist leanings.
Students have protested his death as there’s yet no indication why he was killed.
