One of the scheduled sessions for the Social Media Week Lagos, the panel had the founder of Printivo, Oluyomi Ojo, Head of PR at Jovago Nigeria, Rita Ohai, the cofounder of TechCabal, Bankole Olufemi as well as the Head of Marketing at Samsung Nigeria, Jumoke Okikiolu.
In an intense and interesting discussion, the panel examined brands as well as strategies for brand building. Oluwafemi Bankole revealed that small businesses can be initiated free of charge thanks to the internet.
A member of the audience put him to test by asking him to apply his methods to a startup she was planning.
Oluyomi Ojo also offered unique perspective on staying competition and dwelled on the Three “M’s”; man, money and market.
Rita Ohai offered insight on product differentiation and contended that if your start up is in an area where competition exists, you must differentiate yourself and your brand to stand out.
Olajumoke spoke at length on the fact that big brands are as susceptible to failure as start ups if they lose relevance.
With an engaging audience and a world class panel, it was a productive one hour I wouldn’t forget in a hurry!
