The Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Mr. Emeka Mba has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an alleged N15 billion fraud.
Premium Times reports that Mba was arrested on Monday morning in Abuja and taken to the commission’s headquarters where he is currently being interrogated.
According to the report, the anti-graft agency has over the past one month been investigating the NBC boss.
Operatives of the commission had last week stormed the NBC headquarters, ransacking computers and files in the Finance and Account unit, while some key staff working in the Accounts department were said to have been whisked away during the operation.
Efforts to get the EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwajaren, to comment on the story were not successful as at press time.
