Since its successful launch on DStv channel 166 and Go TV channel 25, Zee World has been available in 44 countries across Sub Saharan Africa. As Zee World approaches its first year anniversary on 3rdFebruary 2016, it reaches yet another milestone as it gears up to offer two separate feeds.
Zee World South Africa will be available to Southern African countries and Zee World Rest of Africaacross East, West and Central Africa.
The split in the feed is scheduled to take place on 11th January 2016. This change will enable each of the feeds to have unique programming, advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
While this strategy would refine the offering and make it relevant for the diverse markets, it would also permit advertisers in the different regions to market their products and reach their audience in a relatable manner.
Having already launched the first dubbed English Channel for Anglophone Africa and French dubbedZee Magic for Francophone Africa, Zee Entertainment, an Indian MNC with 960 million viewers globally, across 169 countries, has taken the African market by storm.
The decision was taken to suit the different time zones across Africa keeping in mind prime time viewing. “It is imperative for Zee TV SA to make this change to better meet the needs of our viewers. We are aware that all of Africa cannot be painted with the same brush. We promise to continue to deliver exceptional content, great quality and unforgettable entertainment”, says Mr Harish Goyal, CEO of Zee TV South Africa.
