Nigeria’s U-23 Team Qualifies For 2016 Olympics
Nigeria’s U-23 team has secured their place in the 2016 Olympics after a hard fought semi final win yesterday over Senegal in the CAF U-23 tournament.
Samson Siasia’s team, famous for their defensive frailties managed to keep Senegal at bay through the efforts of the goalkeeper and on some occasions, sheer luck.
The 1-0 victory, however, was enough to ensure that the team will participate in the Olympic games next year.
Emmanuel Daniel, the goalkeeper of the Nigerian Dream Team VI saved a penalty and made a string of brilliant saves in a standout performance.
Nigeria proved more fortuitous as Oghenekaro Etebo scored from the penalty spot.
