German Chancellor, Angela Merkel Named TIME Person Of The Year

German Chancellor, Angela Merkel has been named the TIME person of the year.

She was named Person of the year because of her involvement in the migrant crisis. ISIS leader, Al-Baghdati and Donald Trump were named runners up.

The TIME magazine article stated, “For asking more of her country than most politicians would dare, for standing firm against tyranny as well as expedience and for providing steadfast moral leadership in a world where it is in short supply, Angela Merkel is ‘Time’s Person of the Year’.”

Mrs Merkel took responsibility in the migrant crisis which rocked Europe for much of the year as her European counterparts instead chose to pass the buck.
