Yaya Toure, Aubameyang Make BBC African Player Of The Year Shortlist

The battle for the title of Africa’s best and the bragging rights that come with it heats up as the BBC announced its shortlist for the BBC African player is the year.

The five man shortlist leaves one wondering who the winner will be as it’s likely to be a close race between all the shortlisted players.

Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure who is one of the most influential players at Manchester city makes the shortlist.

In form Dortmund striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who is from Gabon is also in contention.

Algerian Yacine Brahimi who plays for F.C Porto, Senegalese forward Saido Mane who plays for Southampton and Ghanian Andre Ayew complete the shortlist.
