Typhoon Koppu Hits Philippines

Thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes as a powerful typhoon hit Northern Philippines. Typhoon Koppu has triggered floods and massive landslides.

Officials have reported that one person died when a tree fell unto his house. The lone casualty has been identified as a teenage boy.

The slow moving typhoon has forced thousands of people to leave their homes even as authorities predict that people in badly affected areas will need to sustain themselves for at least three days before getting help.
