Just a few days after multiple bomb attacks in the Borno state capital of Maiduguri, Borno state has come under attack again.

Reports indicate that an improvised explosive device went off in Monguno, Borno on Sunday killing at least 27 people and leaving another 50 injured.

While the Nigerian army claims that Boko Haram is losing its grip on the north, the insurgents are fighting back by hitting soft targets.

The attack in Maiduguri targeted a mosque as well as a viewing Centre and left 54 people dead.

The attack on Monguno which has been confirmed by the Nigerian police force targeted a local onion market on Sunday evening.

A new video by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekhar has refuted the claims of the Nigerian army on Boko Haram’s weakness.
