Taliban Attack In Pakistan Leaves 16 Dead
A deadly attack by Pakistani fighters on an air force base in Peshawar has left at least 16 people dead. A gunfight with security forces left as many as 20 people injured in an attack which took place this morning.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban, the Pakistani branch of the Taliban has claimed responsibility for today’s attacks and confirmed that they specifically targeted the security forces.
The Badaber air base as well as a mosque on the base were today’s targets and a top military official confirmed that 13 of the attackers were killed.
Peshawar is a somewhat soft target for Taliban forces, after the infamous attack in December 2014 where 150 students were killed at a school.
