Abubakar Audu Wins Kogi APC Guber Primaries
The All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries took place in Kogi state yesterday and was concluded in the early hours of this morning.
The gubernatorial primaries was conducted to choose the flagbearer of the APC in the forthcoming elections. The Gubernatorial primaries was keenly contested but ended up returning a landslide result.
Former Kogi state governor, Prince Abubaka Audu won the election, recording 1, 109 votes to beat his closest rival, Yahaya Bello, who scored 703 votes, Nurudeen Abatemi, scored 400 votes to place third.
The results were announced this morning by the Kaduna state governor, Nasir El Rufai who served as the returning officer.
Prince Abubakar Audu served as governor of Kogi state between 1999 and 2003 and is currently facing charges of financial misappropriation brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
