China Investigates Explosion As Death Toll Rises To 56

The Chinese government has started investigations into a chemical explosion in a warehouse in Tianjin. The explosion occurred yesterday on Wednesday with casualties including fire fighters.

Today, the death toll rose to 56 and as many as 25 people are reported to be in critical condition. The government has sent chemical experts to check for toxic gases even as the administration ordered a “crack down unwaveringly on illegal activities to ensure safety”

Authorities claim that the operators of the Tianjin warehouse were “clearly violating” safety rules.
