“We Will Be Accountable To Nigerians” – DSS DG
The Director General of State Security Services has been in news headlines in recent times, following allegations and counter allegations by the PDP that he is a card carrying member of the ruling party.
However, Lawal Musa Daura, seems undeterred. In an interview with Aljazeera TV, he made assurances of a resolute service which will investigate reports without prejudice.
His recent assurances are undoubtedly to soothe nerves after certain sections of Nigerians started to raise alarm as to the witch hunting of members of the Jonathan administration.
In his own words “Whatever comes before us with facts and figures, it will be dealt with equally as required by the law. Daura said.
“Nigerians should closely watch and follow what we have started and what we will continue to do. I am sure they will not find us wanting.” He added
He promised a clamp down on corrupt persons and impartial investigation of all matters brought before the agency.
The Department of State Security under the new leadership is poised to restore the confidence of citizens in the service, which has an all-encompassing mandate to protect the interest of the Nation.
