Protests Continue Over The Killing of Cecil The Lion
“Cecil”, a lion in one of Zimbabwe’s national parks was shot and killed on July 1 after being lured out of the national park with bait.
Cecil, a tourist favorite and a subject of a research was killed by American dentist James Palmer who allegedly paid thirty five thousand pounds to shoot the animal with a bow and arrow.
It is illegal to hunt and kill animals in conservation parks and Mr. Palmer has faced public censure over killing 13 year old park favorite, Cecil.
Protesters gathered at Dr. Palmer’s office today even though he issued a statement apologizing in which he claimed he had no knowledge that Cecil was a park animal.
