Port Harcourt Refinery Begins Operation
According to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the Port Harcourt and Warri refinery have commenced preliminary production.
Mr Ohi Alegbe, the Group Managing Director of the NNPC confirmed the development in a statement in Abuja yesterday
with production estimated to hit 80% capacity of a full capacity of 125,000 barrels per day.
“The phased rehabilitation strategy entailed phased and simultaneous rehabilitation of all refineries using in-house and locally available resources in line with the spirit and letter of the Nigerian Content Law.
“It also involved the use of Original Equipment Manufacturer representatives to effect major equipment overhaul and rehabilitation.’’
