Moved by the need to evolve the Lagos of our dream, the Spirit of Lagos SOL), a non-political, non-religious organization is out in the streets of Lagos with its new campaign ‘Do the Right Thing’. The campaign is part of the group’s activities to educate Lagosians on the need to render selfless services as part of their contributions to developing and sustaining public services provided by the government.
Olaniyi Omotoso, Project Director SOL said that the principles of the organisation rests on its four cardinal points which are social justice, citizenship, good neighbourliness and civic responsibility saying that the ‘Do The Right Thing’ campaign is in tandem with civic responsibility which reminds people that they all have a part to play in developing and sustaining our communities and public service.
On the forthcoming elections, Omotoso said the people need to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), to vote peacefully and according to her consciences, and not along their primordial or parochial sentiments “We are using this platform to sensitise Lagosians to obtain their PVC and exercise their franchise, which is part of their civic obligation”, he said.
The team has so far visited Oshodi Market, Badagry, Mushin market, Ojodu Berger, Ajegunle, Anthony Village and Okokomaiko among many other places across Lagos with the message of attitudinal and behaviourial change.
Spirit of Lagos is a non-political, non partisan, non religious organization – aimed at restoring the past glories of Lagos.
