A female suicide bomber reportedly blew herself up at the venue of the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan campaign rally in Gombe state just a few minutes after the rally ended.
The bomb blast reportedly killed two people and left eighteen seriously injured even as concerns continue to mount regarding security and violence in the build up to the February 2015 elections.
The bomb blast occurred despite a step up of security by the Peoples Democratic Party in the wake of some particularly embarrassing incidents of stoning in some campaign rallies in a few Northern states.
There was also an incident of explosion in Rivers state as the high court in Degema, Degema Local Government Area, was totally destroyed by the explosion. There were also blasts at two courts in Port Harcourt and Isiokpo although these were of smaller magnitude.
The Police force in Port Harcourt reports that no lives were lost.
