In her words, here is what she has to say about Kunle Afolayan movie – October 1st
As a film that attempts to teach Nigeria’s history through entertainment, Kunle Afolayan’s October 1 gets a pass. Brand Nigeria is depicted in the language, props and footage. But the problem with the film is that it tries to do too many things. The sub plots should have been kept to a minimal and the script rewritten to plug obvious loopholes. Too many scenes like Deola Sagoe’s cameo have no business making the final cut and the stunts leave much to be desired. These all take away from the film’s stronger points – cinematography, costume, production design and acting. Good effort.
