Nollywood stars storm Silverbird, City Mall as ‘Somewhere Down the Line’ premieres

The movie Somewhere Down the Line produced by fast-rising actress Tamara Eteimo premiered over the weekend at the Silverbird, Ikeji City Mall. The turnout of Nollywood stars that graced the premiere was unprecedented, for a budding producer as Tamara.

The red carpet which was sponsored by P&G had in attendance notable filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, Saheed Balogun, Ireti Osayemi, Doris Simeon, Foluke Daramola-Salako, Gbenga Adeyinka, Alex Mouth, Thandekile Maseko, Sola Fajobi, Mary Lazarus, who also starred in the movie and others who came to rally support for their colleague.

One of the highpoints of the night came during the screening of the movie as the guests were entertained and tickled by the acting but especially singing prowess of Tamara Eteimo who played a twin character in the movie.

Speaking on her cinema debut, Tamara said: “Before the screening I was tensed. Naturally, you will be tensed because you don’t want anything to go wrong. But at the same time, I had to tell myself, Tamara calm down, if anything goes wrong you are still who you are. But seeing people reaction tonight, this is just God telling me, my daughter I’m always strongly behind you. I’m really, really happy. And I’m encouraged to do more but this is not for producers not to give me jobs o. please o I’m still an actress”.

Somewhere Down the Line, is a story on surrogacy which features Bukky Wright, Yemi Blaq, Rachel Oniga and Mary Lazarus, Yinka Ayelokun, Adetomiwa Kukoyi, Yinka Salau, kingsley Ogboso and others. The flick which is from the stable of Sola Fajobi’s Origin 8, was directed by Alex Mouth.

Somewhere Down the line tells the story of a couple of a couple, Tolu and Goke who, eight years into their marriage, remain childless. They choose the path of IVF but it leads them down an emotional destination, causing more sorrow than joy.

The couple agrees on surrogacy but it turns out that Grace, the surrogate becomes emotionally attached, ‘Somewhere Down the Line’ and does not want to part with the foetus in her womb.
