A bomb blast just occurred at Kano School of Hygiene while new students of the College were undergoing
screening at the school.
Kano Commissioner of Police, Adelenre Shinaba told reporters that many of the victims were new intakes of the school undergoing screening exercise.
He further revealed that 8 vehicles parked within the premises of the state owned tertiary institution were damaged.
The Commissioner disclosed that a suspect was apprehended at the scene as he ruled out car bombing of this latest attack.
Mr. Shinaba said that “every lead seems to point at suicide bombing, unlike our previous experience none of the vehicles parked inside this school caught fire and there is no hole around to suggest a car bombing but all leads are still open for investigation”.
The Commissioner further disclosed that lifeless bodies of the affected students have been deposited at the morgue, while the injured are receiving treatment at undisclosed Government Hospital.
